It’s said that an idle mind is the devils workshop and by discovering my love for travel this is how I halted lucifer from opening another one of his branches. Being young, single with some little money just more than enough for your basic needs, can be catastrophic. It’s at this age that human nature calls for adventure and most of the times, the wrong type of adventure seems to attract most of us. Many end up indulging in dangerous habits like drugs and others become party after party animals. True to the saying, “Traveling-it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a story teller” – Ibn Battuta
This is how my love for traveling came to birth.
A tour around these country has left me fascinated by it’s breathtaking topography. Amongst my latest Safaris, has been to Malindi.
Malindi is a town in Southeastern Kenya on Malindi Bay, along the Indian Ocean. It sits amid a string of tropical beaches dotted with hotels and resorts. During my trip, I stayed at Eden House Cottages. A serene place located 2.8 km from Malindi Beach and only 2.7 Km from Malindi Marine National Park.

Malindi Marine National Park are home to magnificent resources such as turtles and different species of colorful fish, shorebirds, coral, sea grass, fringing reefs and mangroves.
Deep in the the Marine Park lies Sardegna island popularly known as the love island. It serves as a great stop over for unwinding before heading back to the dry land after a along cruise.

You will love burying yourself in the sand as you wait for a sumptuous lunch of a variety of seafoods and the locals delicacy wali wa nazi (rice in coconut milk). Served with Mchuzi wa pweza (octopus soup) believed and known to be a traditional viagra😜, lobster, prawns and fish are amongst the delicacies you will enjoy.

Arabuko-sokoke Forest Reserve is another one of the treasures in Malindi,it harbors elephants and more than 200 species of birds. Near the forest, Gede ruins are the remains of an ancient Swahili town home to a small snake park. An encounter with the reptiles is one that will get your adrenaline rushing, they say if it scares you, it might be a good thing to try.
On the other end is Mida Creek a true hidden treasure with a broad water tidal creek surrounded by extensive Mangroves and lined with palms.
This’s Malindi through my eyes, a beautiful town, rich with culture. I have been to many places in this country, but so far, Malindi remains to be my best. The rich culture, friendly people, Swahili cuisines, the beach and the vista leaves me with no option but to fall in love with these Coastal town.“I haven’t been everywhere but it is on my list” – Susan Sontag
